  • to italians

ask them how Silvio Berlusconi is still in office. their system is quite possibly just as or more corrupt than ours. it's really crazy.

  • additionally...

being one of the only girls on CB i need y'all to realize that if Bush is elected our womens rights are virtually thrown out the window. i'm not just talking about abortion but things like birth control as well. i dont think it is ok for anyone else to tell a woman what they can and cant do with their bodies. so unless you are ready for baby mama drama and according to the post about STDs you better wrap that shit up good.

i know there have been some calls to keep politcal oppinions to ourselves, but i cant rock like that. i agree that we need to get rid of our 2 party democratic republic, but this is not the year to do it. too much is on the line. we all know whats going on in iraq and how fucked up it is, but what you may not have considered is how the rest of the world is also viewing us. my parents just came back from italy, a "westernized" free country. the people there cant understand why half of the country could still possibly vote for bush after all the lying and decieving he has done. if bush is re-elected i fear that other nations that have previously been our allies will be so fed up they turn against us. so all that being said, as much as we want to get alternative candidates into the race, voting for nader is just as dangerous as voting for bush.

  • political ban

how about in this last week, we'll all keep our political brik brak to ourselves and just make a pact to all vote somebody. it's true that some of us might think that this election won't make a shit of a difference, but it is A PRIVILEGE to vote in this country. people have fought and died for us to be able to have this right. whoever is just not voting because they don't feel like going all the way (a mile or two) to a polling center, think about what you're taking (or not taking) for granted.

  • no big deal...

gabe i didnt say you did say nader was the lib. candidate... a couple other people did though, sorry you thought that was towards you. as far as voting for kerry goes, I can't vote for him just to get bush out, and i wont vote for bush... so Im voting for the libertarian candidate because i deally one day i'd like to see a viable third party so im gonna start now. Kerry's people estimates that they need to beat bush by 400,000 in philly to beat him in the rest of the state. I think this is entirely possible considering that philadelphians keep voting in idiot dems like mayor street. Anyhow i think people need to stop acting acting like this election signifies the end of civilization or something. Bush or Kerry it will be business a susual. Two party system means nothing ever changes. EVER. The site is way more crucial than this election.

  • whoa.

once again, props to freeborn for holding it down in true crucial fashion.

I agree with Little Jon...neither of these candidates are a good choice for president. Kerry isn't going to pull the troops out of Iraq, and he isn't going to fix any of the infrastructure issues (electrical grid failures, our dependence on foreign oil, health care for the population) over night.

But, voting for anybody but Kerry is the worst idea ever becuase we've got to start with GETTING BUSH OUT.

i saw a jawn at the rally that had a sign which read "the only bush i support is my own"...it ruled.

  • Kerry is not the second coming of Christ.

There is no choice in this election. Both candidates have less pros than cons. Neither of them is going to make all that great a president. Yes, we've seen what Bush can do (with Kerry's backing, remember, everything Bush did was voted on by Senate, and a majority of Kerry's votes were in Bush's favor, including the one that put us in Iraq), so let's give Kerry a chance. But let's not be ignorant, he isn't going to just come into office and make everything better. There has never been a president that has done right by everyone.
