a girl and an elephant...true story, no bullshit!!
not sure if i posted about this before but, my cousin has been living in kenya for a few years doing her post grad stuff about environmental changes affect on wildlife. she was headed out into the bush one morning,about a year and a half ago, to locate the pack of baboons she had been following and studying. After being dropped off alone (which is unusual), she was making her way down an access road on a dirt bike, when she stalled out...alone. while trying to kick-start the bike back up, she was suddenly and most unexpectedly encroached upon by some number of elephants coming out of the brush off to one side of the road. in an apparent attempt to mitigate a perceived threat, she was approached/charged by three of the larger females. the largest elephant proceded to chase her off the road, gore her in the back and toss her, step on her back and roll and kick her, leaving her semi-conscious. she survived intact, mostly, left with 6 broken ribs, a hole in her back, and a fractured leg. -
